** BOAT JOURNEYS MADE **

This is the 10 March 2005 edition of this page.

I have travelled many places in the past 55 years, quite a lot by boats and ships, - and this shows the vessels used, the dates and destinations.

In that way it will be similar to the 'flights' page. BEAR IN MIND that the UK is no-longer a shipbuilding nation!! However, I've found that "The Isle of Lewis" was built by Ferguson Shipbuilders Ltd, Port Glasgow in 1995. Her length is 101m and breadth is 18.0m. She has a top speed of 18 Knots, carries 123 cars and 680 passengers. (but I haven't done a successful browse for their web-site!)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The two CRUISE ships that I took in Russia in 1995 (The m/s RUSS) and in CHINA in 2001
(The " Princess Jeannie") were 'cloned boats' built in West Germany. Only the decorations were different!!

Instead of those manufacturers, why not the OPERATORS?

For time-tables and possibly ticket purchases,
try Scotland's Caledonian McBrayne's Site
and the Isle of Wight's Red Funnel Services.
and their Wightlink Services.
