                                  PREFACE

     Every time that I had seen photographs of Canada, especially the Rockies, they had
seemed unbelievably beautiful - not only in the excellence of the photography - but in the
stunning beauty of the landscape, the mountains and the lakes.

     Thus it was, when I was looking through a brochure of a company that I had vowed
never to travel with again, I came across a tour of the Rockies at very reasonable price. As
this was with the same company but in a different continent, I relaxed my view, arguing that
it may be organised by a different branch of the company on better lines.

     Thus I found myself  booking this 'tour' and imagining it in the new atlas that I had
recently bought. One needs to fly, first to Seattle, then catch one of the company's coaches
from there to cross into Canada. Seattle, in my memories, was a very beautiful city - as well
as being the place where one reel of the photos on my previous visit had 'not come out'. The
reason why they had 'not come out' was because they had been lost either by the Post Office
or the mail-order photo-service which had done the processing. A revisit, there, would give
me a chance to retake the equivalent 'shots', bearing in mind that there had been a passage
of 14 years !!

     So, not only would I view the magnificent Rockies, but I would pay an emotional
return visit to Seattle!! And there's more!! The tour includes Vancouver & Victoria as well.
This I must do!!!
