On 17 February 2001, I 'gave up' my own private motoring, so this vehicle
was my LAST!!

LIFE AFTER THE CAR??!!
From here onwards, my NATIONAL motoring has been and will continue to be, by a series of one-day tours by MALVERNIAN coaches. Other journeys that cannot be covered by either these people OR the National Express organisation WITHIN A DAY have needed another solution.

That has involved interrogating not only the National Express's "Go by Coach" website (which, typically, may not start early enough in the day for a reasonable, or any, time with one's friends elsewhere in the country) but also one of the many Rail websites (e.g 'Railtrack'). By the combination of Rail (not the direct route but the fastest) and local bus timetables, I have been able to plan and execute journeys between my out-of-the-way 'Country' location with friends in another out-of-the-way 'country' location. The RAIL legs' time-keeping left a "LOT TO BE DESIRED" but, fortunately, any late arrivals were matched by delays on later connections. One still used the planned trains given over the internet, but the arrival home was a few hours late.
