THE FLIGHT TO ICELAND:
This was achieved in a Boeing757-200 which was absolutely FULL. Take-off was exciting
as the two RB211 engines roared their sounds throughout the craft. It touched-down at 11pm,-
and the sun STILL hadn't set!! This is going to be the opposite to my 'virtually all-dark tour' of
NORWAY 6 months earlier!!
Being my first trip to this Country, it was to be an 'overview' tour - covering the Glaciers, the
fantastic WATERFALLS, the Geysers - and as much as I could possibly visit in the time!!
We had a REAL bus-load to the Reykjavik hotels, but I was the only person staying at
the ESJA!! The man at Reception said there would probably more arriving from other countries
joining you later! At 2 a.m (tomorrow!) in Reykjavik, I changed my watch-time from UK-BST by
putting it back an hour. It's still light, the sun having only recently set.
Return, now, to Icelandic index for reorientation.
Or advance to Next chapter .
