     This whole voyage was graced with lots of wonderful people. This annex is an attempt
to bring them together, especially if they have been omitted from the main text. For
geographic reasons, I have divided them into two sections. The first section covers the host
Nation (i.e. Russian) personnel with whom I communicated - and the second section deals
with all other nation's representatives that I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with.

Section 1 - RUSSIANS

Eric - from Leeds (Yorkshire) - a Russian Orthodox guy! - sat with me at mealtimes
May - from Essex - we explored some towns & villages together
Al & Priscilla Pastor - from California - my best friends for the trips & explorations - 
     (with Eric and me - they formed our table-of-four!)
Geordie singer and wife - from Newcastle
American girls on Red Square - took each others photos
Group on American women on bow of  'Russ' - as we approached Rybinsk Reservoir lock
French Group - at table at dance on board the boat
American - jointly with self, taking scenic photos
English guy (in Civil-Servant mould) - a history enthusiast!!
A Liberal couple - English and educated and very interesting
A TUC/Labour enthusiast (English) plus wife -had made many past 'exchange-visits'
Don Hartman - form Evansville, Indiana (a retired Civil Engineer)
Series of French friends (names unknown) - watching sunsets and chatting
Rita & John -a couple from Northern England, OK individually, but they couldn't stand each
     other, even to the extent of John's leaving me when arrived.
Kendra Colton - from Boston Massachussetts, a soprano who performed on the boat - nice
     girl.
Joan - lady from Seattle with whom I had many conversations
Retired American lawyer (name unknown)
Dutchman (as artist's model) and two Dutch women (names forgotten)
American guy (reminds me of work colleague) - quite an actor, quiet personality and
     pleasant character.
Londoner (cockney) - uneducated but thinks he's marvellously clever - pleasant character who
     says that he is lucky to be alive - used to work at John Lewis's in Oxford Street.
Large American woman (name forgotten) who likes the shade!!
Several people involved in banter between boat & quay at St Petersburg.
Welsh owner of Border Hotel (Paddington) - the singing chef.
Australian girl on reception at Border Hotel.
English Couple who now run the 'Centre for Alternative Technology'  in Machynlleth, Wales
     (I'd visited the place before they 'took over').
